Activities

Knowing a persons life history and what makes them tick helps us create meaningful activities that match their individual preferences and abilities.

We believe staying active is an important part of life for anyone that makes us feel alive.

Day to day

At Dominion Home we take the time to know our residents. Knowing a persons life history helps us create meaningful activity plans that match their individual preferences and abilities.

Residents are encouraged to be involved in the running of their home if they wish. This may include collecting the mail, folding the washing, sweeping the floor, gardening, baking, flower arranging and social activities.

Individual and group  activities

Residents are encouraged to participate in group activities that can be modified to suit their personal abilities. These include craft activities, cooking, gardening, singing, dancing, exercise, quizzes, newspaper reading, special afternoon teas, DVDs, church services and much more

Van Outings - We love exploring our city

We have an 8 seater van that takes residents out 2 times a week. During the warmer months we enjoy beach visits, picnics, visits to the gardens and sometimes fish n chips at a park. During the wetter months we love road trips, exploring Auckland, keeping up to date with our ever changing city and reminiscing  the old days.

Visiting entertainers

Dominion Home has musical entertainers twice a week.
